HELP! WHAT IS THIS???

Any ideas what this could be???

WE HAVE A WINNER!!! Thanks Pam and her hubby!! It is called a Gamsbart Stag Brush worn by German or Bavarian costume wearers! The hair is probably boar or elk (some creature) and it is a trophy as per say and worn on their hats, big show offs LOL

Thanks for your help ladies (and gents)!!

We have an alpenfest in our town every year, our sister town is Pontrecina from Switzerland. It's a very large festival and alot of people dress in there dirndle skirts and liederhosen. My husband said he thinks that is what the men clip in their hats. It's made of stag hair or elk hair which is native to Europe. Hope this helps.

I agree--possibly an alpine, military or hunting hat pin. It looks quite old.

Look at examples here:

You are so welcome, Kim. My husband knows alot of trivia, weird things, especially animal related. Such an outdoorsy guy. I love challenges, thanks for sharing, and lucky you for owning one.
